Volunteer Leaders
Advisory Committee Members: Committee will provide guidance and recommendations to the WWSD activities and help study/evaluate issue / challenges and share perspective.
Volunteer Coordinator(s): Recruit, screen, match volunteers to tasks, schedule and track assigned activities.
Communications/Marketing/Web Management: Provide effective communications and education to the Chatham community about WWSD activities including collection locations, donation opportunities; to direct service providers, donors and general public through all media forms. Maintain website and work collaboratively with Volunteer Coordinator to update Volunteer page posts. Flyers, press releases, posters, social media, etc.
Transportation Crew Leads: Provide organization and regular contact with all transportation volunteers
Volunteers
Volunteer Pick-up and Transportation Crew members: Pickup donations at Collection Locations assigned on designated days and transport to Storage Center. Three crews: Siler City Crew, Pittsboro Crew, N Chatham Crew
Processing Crew Members: At 79°West Storage Center-sort, organize by type/size/gender, tag coats and place on hangers/rack, other items in bins, add to and maintain running inventory
Donation Delivery Crew: Transport specific donation items to direct service providers or to events
In-kind Donation Leads: Seek in-kind donations & funds from area businesses to serve WWSD operation and for client needs
Amazon Wishlist and Gift list Organizers: Conduct search of Amazon products for appropriate products for in-need population or operation support. Add to Wishlist and monitor Gift List.
